Do you know someone who has given heart and soul to the community of Shell Knob?  Someone who has dedicated themselves to the betterment of the area?  If so, consider nominating them for recognition.

Each year, the Chamber presents two awards to dedicated community volunteers; they are the Business person of the Year and Community Service Awards.  If you know of someone deserving, go to www.shellknob.com/events.htm and download a nomination form.  Anyone can make a nomination by completing the form and returning it to the Chamber office by February 12.  The awards will be presented at the Chambers’ Annual Membership Dinner in March.

Cusser Magazine Had this to Say About the Shakin' in the Shell Car Show

"On Saturday, September 26, 2009 we headed south for the 20th Annual 'Shakin' in the Shell Fest' Car Show at Shell Knob, MO.  Shell Knob is located southwest of Springfield and south of Aurora.  Highway 39 south off of I-44 is quite a drive with it's hills and curves.  We had just commented how much fun it would be in a sports car when we met a Ferrari zipping along.  We drove through rain most of the way down 71 highway but it was partly cloudy at the show....They had rain earlier in the week and the show field was soft but not muddy.  There was a short drive over gravel to reach the show field.  There was ample trailer parking.  You had to bring your own shade. Don Erickson is the show chairman and a subscriber to the CUSSER.  Don had the Mid-America Association of Car Clubs (MAAC) do the judging for the 100 plus vehicles.  You can't do any better than these guys who are professional judges.......The adjacent festival provided multiple food vendors and we had great Angus burgers for lunch.  This is a good car show and well worth the trip.  Put this one on your to-do list!  Thanks Don, for the fun day!"

Congratulations to Don & Ola Erickson and all those involved in putting the show together, including the Shakin' in the Shell Committee!
