If your membership door sticker has been misplaced, contact the Chamber for a replacement, but certainly get it up and on display! After all, you've earned the recognition.
FIREWORKS FUNDRAISER T-SHIRTS April Williams of Lakeside Marine Ski & Sports, along with John Coonrod of Ozark Air Conditioning, are again heading the design and choosing of t-shirt colors for the fireworks fundraiser t-shirts. Shirts will be distributed on Friday, May 28, just prior to the Memorial Day Weekend.
NEW WEBPAGE NEARING COMPLETION The Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce is in the process of developing a whole new Webpage. Murnet Technologies of Bradenton, FL (a Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce member) is developing the new site. At the April 14 monthly board meeting, everyone in attendance was given the opportunity to review three mock-ups and give their input. All the input was pulled together and changes made to the proposed site. The new Webpage will give Shell Knob an updated, modern presence on the Web while maintaining a user-friendly format, adding a few conveniences for users and allowing Chamber members to purchase advertising on various pages. Not only will the new Webpage offer an attractive way for folks to find information about Shell Knob, it will also make it much easier and time efficient to update. We anticipate the site being uploaded and available by the end of May.
SHOPPIN' IN THE SHELL SHOPPING SPREE “Shoppin in the Shell” tickets for 2010 are available at the following locations:
The tickets are $10 each or six for $50. The prize is $1,000 for the winner to spend with participating Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce businesses. Televisions to furniture; boat rental to vacation stays; groceries to home decor; the winner can spend the entire $1,000 at one business or you can spend smaller amounts at several businesses. Shoppin' in the Shell committee chairperson Jeanne Lawrence says “You can’t win, if you don’t buy a ticket.” So, be sure and purchase your ticket. Not only is the prize spectacular, you are support the Chamber's efforts to promote "Shop Local"! The winner will be drawn on Sunday, July 4, 2010. This promotion is a cooperative effort of the Shell Knob Senior Center and the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce.
SHELL KNOB CHAMBER NOW HAS A FACEBOOK PRESENCE Yes, like so many others including national chains, local businesses and other communities, the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce now has an official Facebook page. If you have a Facebook page, search for "Shell Knob on Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce" and choose "like"; then you will have access to the latest information AND you can post information about your Chamber member business and upcoming events. The Chamber's new Website will include a link to the Chamber's Facebook page giving people both here, and outside the area, another way to access all kinds of information about Shell Knob. The page will be closely monitored for appropriate content.
What visitors are saying about the Vacation & Relocation Guide "Throughout the year I get calls from our friends requesting the phone numbers of places. They all know I keep everything. That little guide (the Shell Knob Vacation & Relocation Guide) becomes our “vacationing bible” for Shell Knob. While there, we keep it in the boat glove box to use as a phone book since all the numbers are listed. So, if your members rely on vacationers to support their business, it is very important for them to be included in the guide. That is our only source of information while patronizing the area...." (Bobby Hroch, Wymore, NE)
● Thank you Old Church Gallery for loaning a painting to the Chamber for display in the office. ● Thank you to everyone who worked on the committee, volunteered, exhibited and/or attended the 23rd Annual Home & Business Show. It was another success with vendors reporting a record number of leads and sales.
